New Affordability and Accessibility Features

Our Partners Make Us Stronger Over the past few months, RentLinx has worked with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and the Michigan Disability Rights Coalition (MDRC) to develop new affordability and accessibility features for RentLinx. These new features have just been released! Action Required! Current RentLinx users, we need your help! If you have already listed your properties, we need you to login and update your properties with your affordability and accessibility information as described below. New Features We recently released several new features to help renters find affordable or accessible housing. As a property manager, you can now:
  • Indicate whether your properties accept Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8)
  • Provide wait-list information if available
  • List multiple property types for your properties (e.g. "Senior Housing" and "Subsidized")
  • Indicate which of your units offer rent based on income
  • Indicate which of your units are mobility, vision or hearing accessible
  • Select new accessibility options that apply to individual units
Updating your properties is fast and easy! It will only take a minute or two for each property. How do I do it? The first place you will need to update your property is on the property "general information" page. To do this, first click the name of your property. Then click the "Edit general information" link on the right hand side in the "Property General Information Box" This page will give you access to the new property types, HCV and waitlist options. After clicking save, you can update each of your units (or add new units). To edit a unit, click the name of the unit. Then click the "Edit general information" link. This page will let you edit the new unit-specific features: rent based on income and accessibility. If you mark a unit as accessible, then click save, you will be redirected to the "Unit Amenities" page, where you can choose new accessibility amenities. You can always access this page later by clicking "Edit Amenities" from the unit page. As always, please contact us if you have any questions or need any help!
